about

Hi! My name is Sarah Roldán and I’m obsessed with wine—most especially wines from the Americas. From Canada to Chile, I am fascinated with what the New World has to offer.

From June to August 2017 I was in Chile researching Chilean wine law (specifically exports to the US) and found myself more interested in the wine, wine-making process, and distribution aspects than the legal side of my research. This led me to change the intended outcome of my research—a lengthy legal article intended for publication in a legal journal—to creating something more approachable and exciting.

The result? This website: part travel blog, part academic portfolio. Here you’ll find short articles I’ve written (legal and otherwise), links to what I’m currently reading, and posts about the wineries I’ve been visiting—at home and abroad.

I hope you enjoy reading my discoveries and traveling with me as I learn more about New World vines and the delicious alcohols they produce.
